Directed by Semi Chahmi and written/produced by Ephrayim Odor, this short documentary offers an intimate and powerful look into the emotional, financial, and cultural challenges faced by Caribbean students—especially from Aruba—who move to the Netherlands in search of education and opportunity.

The documentary is built on more than two years of investigative research by Ephrayim Odor, drawing from:

• University studies from HAN University, Twente, RIVM, PMC
  
• Interviews with students, educators, and policymakers
  

This foundation ensures the film is both emotionally compelling and factually grounded.

Filmed Across Aruba and the Netherlands

Shot between June and September 2025 in Oranjestad, San Nicolas, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Schiedam, and The Hague, the documentary features over 15 interviews and striking visuals captured by cinematographer Semi Chahmi, with drone support from Arubian Films and Eduardo Goeloe.
